Foam означает 'накипь, налет на поверхности жидкости' (от взбалтывания, сильного колыхания, брожения, подогревания), 'морская пена', а также 'пена на коже животного' (в последнем значении употребляется также lather): foam on beer, breakers white with foam, horse in a foam (или horse covered with lather). Lather – 'мыльная пена для бритья': the barber makes a lather on a man's face before he shaves him. Suds (или soapsuds)- 'мыльная пена, образующаяся во время стирки' (иногда вообще 'мыльная вода'): the laundress soaked the clothes in hot suds.
